Vodafone start G5 pre-orders: How to secure your 5G smartphone today

Let's start with the G5, LG's newest flagship smartphone. It can be yours for either $624 upfront, or $0 down followed by 24 monthly payments of $26. It will be released on April 1. If you pre-order one, you get a free LG 360 Cam, as well as a free second battery for the G5 and a battery charging cradle.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE was launched last year then sales were abruptly stopped when the Korean company discovered a faulty component. The smartwatch is back, though, with AT&T starting pre-orders for it a few days ago. And now Verizon is following in the footsteps of its biggest competitor, by offering the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE for pre-order too.

As a flagship smartphone, it stands to reason that the Galaxy S22 Ultra should come with a premium price tag. That being said, the starting price of 1149 / $1199 / AU$1849 (for the 128GB model) is at least no higher than that of 2021's S21 Ultra.

It does make the Galaxy S22 Ultra more expensive than the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max, which starts at 1049 / $1099 / AU$1849, but it's cheaper than our favourite phone, the Sony Xperia 1 III (1199 / $1300 / AU$1699).

T-Mobile will open up pre-orders for both handsets on February 23rd. The 32GB Galaxy S7 will be available in Black Onyx and Gold Platinum color options for $0 and $27.92 per month for 23 months and $27.83 for the 24th month. Full retail price for the S7 is $669.99. The 32GB Galaxy S7 Edge will be available in Silver Titanium, Black Onyx and Gold Platinum for $0 down and $32.50 per month for 23 months and $32.49 for the 24th month. Full retail price for the S7 Edge is $779.99.

Like the others, US Cellular says it will open up pre-orders for the S7 and S7 Edge on February 23rd, while devices will be available in stores on March 11th. The S7 will cost $28 per month with a 24-month payment plan, and the S7 Edge will go for $32.50 per month with a 24-month payment plan. Two year agreements are also being offered for $199 and $299, respectively.

Vodafone has announced pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are now live. Additionally, if you pre-oder the devices before March 6th, your new phone will be delivered three days early, on March 8th.

Most mobile phones can be unlocked to work with any GSM network provider, but the phone may still display the original branding and may not support features of the new carrier. Besides the locking, phones may also have firmware installed on them which is specific to the network provider. For example, a Vodafone or Telstra branded phone in Australia will display the relevant logo and may only support features provided by that network (e.g. Vodafone Live!). This firmware is installed by the service provider and is separate from the locking mechanism. Most phones can be unbranded by reflashing a different firmware version, a procedure recommended for advanced users only. The reason many network providers SIM lock their phones is that they offer phones at a discount to customers in exchange for a contract to pay for the use of the network for a specified time period, usually between one and three years. This business model allows the company to recoup the cost of the phone over the life of the contract. Such discounts are worth up to several hundred US dollars. If the phones were not locked, users might sign a contract with one company, get the discounted phone, then stop paying the monthly bill (thus breaking the contract) and start using the phone on another network or even sell the phone for a profit.[2] SIM locking curbs this by prohibiting change of network (using a new SIM).

In Brazil, SIM locks are not prohibited. However, the mobile carrier must inform the consumer of the existence of a SIM lock. Anatel, Brazil's telecom regulator, requires the carrier to unlock free of charge the mobile phone if required by the user. After this regulation most telecom operators started voluntarily unlocking the devices as soon as it was purchased so one could leave the store with an unlocked phone.[21]

Under the original version of the Wireless Code implemented 2013, carriers were required to offer unlocks no later than 90 calendar days from the start of a contract for subsidized devices, or immediately upon purchase of an unsubsidized device. The Code, however, did not expressly prohibit carriers from charging an unlock fee.[5][26]

Under a regulation enacted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, locking phones to a specific carrier is prohibited if other carriers are also using the same type of network technology. Therefore, all phones approved to be sold in China are never locked to begin with regardless of whether the consumer purchased the phone under a contract or not. However, since all three Chinese carriers each uses a different network technology after the adoption of 3G, carriers started to ask phone manufacturers to disable support for network technologies not used by such carrier even if the phone has been originally designed to be capable of supporting those network technologies. Such a move does not result in violation of the ban on phone locking. For example, an iPhone 6 was designed to be capable of supporting LTE FDD, LTE TD, CDMA, and WCDMA technologies but China Mobile reached a deal with Apple to create a special model for China Mobile in addition to the off-contract retail model sold by Apple and third party vendors with the capability to support LTE FDD, CDMA, WCDMA, which are the technologies not used by China Mobile, disabled, effectively making such special contract model incompatible with the 3G and 4G networks of other carriers even though such phones are never locked.

In a 2002 letter to the Dutch Secretary of State of Economic Affairs, OPTA stated that the telecom regulator has decided to start working on the formalization of the voluntary code of conduct into legislation.[48] However, a 2006 report written by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs,[49] stated that competition in the Dutch mobile market is sufficient and the formalization of the voluntary code of conduct into legislation is not needed. Thus there are no SIM locking laws in the Netherlands.[50]

Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 pre-orders have kicked off, and unsurprisingly, there's more than a few promos to incentivise early adoption. The most tantalising arguably comes from Telstra, where you'll score a free Samsung TV when you pre-order either phone on a Medium plan or better.

The phone will be available in 64GB, 128GB or 256GB options. The iPhone 11 Pro will start at 1049, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max at 1149. The pre-orders start on Friday September 13, with a delivery of September 20.

The Bundle for Ukraine was first started by developer Necrosoft but an overwhelming number of developers and creators have shown up to support the cause, with almost 1,000 digital works available in the bundle from many well-known creators.

If you're looking for a mobile phone plan with 5GB of data, prices currently start from 6/month in the UK. With your 5GB of data, you'll be able to browse the internet for approximately 60 hours per month, to stream 1,000 songs online or to watch 10 hours of online video in standard definition.

The Galaxy S21 FE starts at $699 in the U.S. That's $100 less than the Galaxy S21's debut price from last spring; depending on the Galaxy S21 deals available, you may even be able to find last year's flagship for less. The Galaxy S22 retains the S21's $799 starting price, so there's not a huge price difference between that phone and the Galaxy S21 FE.

You can't start measuring blood pressure on your Galaxy Watch 5 right out of the box. You'll need to download the Samsung Health Monitor app on your watch and smartphone. In addition, you'll also have to calibrate the watch using a blood pressure cuff. That means you'll have to shell out money on a medical-grade cuff if you don't have one already. Moreover, you'll have to calibrate the watch every four weeks.

When Google launched its pre-orders I bought a Sorta Seaform Pixel 6 for my wife, thinking she would appreciate the camera and an upgrade to her Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. After just two days she handed it back to me and told me to return it and give her back the S20 Ultra. Her primary issues were that it was too slow and unresponsive, the cell signal was not as good as Samsung, and it was too slippery. I was pretty surprised by her lack of enthusiasm for the handy Google software elements. 2ff7e9595c
